Wild Turkey Feather Duster no. 02

Wild Turkey Feather Duster no. 02

$290.00

Extra long Feather Duster crafted from wild turkey feathers, an apple handle, and hemp loop hanger. This is a functional art object.

Meant to make your chores more beautiful. Gently dust off the rock collection + spiderwebs from the ceiling corner.

Handle length: 14 3/4” long

Duster length: 12 1/4” long

Overall length: 27” long

The handle is waxed and will occasionally require reapplication of wax or oil once fully dry. If you need to clean the feathers, use warm water and a gentle soap to cleanse the feathers only. Do not submerge the duster. After rinsing completely to remove soap, gently remove excess water with a hand towel. Hang the duster upside down in a sunny, dry place and allow it to dry about 90%. Use a hair dryer on low heat to fluff the feathers back into shape and dry the rest of the way.

About the turkey: Sage personally handled all of this wild turkey. It lived a wild life that was taken—but not without gratitude and intention. Not a single bit went to waste.

About the turkey:

My partner, Josh, and I personally handled all of this wild turkey. It lived a wild life that was taken
-But not without gratitude and intention. Not a single bit went to waste.
I plucked its feathers and salted them-kept them for a year, waiting until I had good use for them. The meat was frozen, roasted, and put in our soups.
The bones we turned into broth. Left overs were rendered and added to our dogs’ homemade meals (I know I'm nuts, but I literally cook them a pot of their own food).
Anything we couldn't use, we "offered" back to the bears and coyotes and other animals that come down to the river near our home.
