Nestled in the hillside surrounding Sage's home and pottery studio, lies an array of natural materials to be foraged. With a little attention and a lot of curiosity, she crafts wild clay, pigments, and various plant fibers into functional wares of the home. This clay is more than a medium; it is a connection to the land.

Wild clay collected from a puddle at the base of a hill and near the river in Wallowa, Oregon. Raw clay was collected + refined over several weeks, slowly maturing it to a beautifully smooth, glossy, and layered slip.

Fired to 2238° F and 2132° F, oxidation.

Beautiful, yet gnarly. Colorful, but dull. Rough and smooth.

Works well with cone, block, or powder incense.

Must be used on a flat, fire resistant surface, preferably near a window or fan. A place with a draft allows oxygen to thoroughly access the smoldering cone and keep it well lit. Extinguish the flame before putting the lid on the container. Avoid touching any parts of the box for several minutes after smoke has stopped to prevent burns. Adult supervision is required.
