Stoneware Herb Garden + Oregon Walnut Hand Carved Plinth Set # 3

Set of 2 stoneware herb planters on an Oregon walnut plinth. Under the planters are circular guides hand carved with various textures to act as a placeholder for the pots when you are watering. The carvings are meant to be a secretly beautiful moment just for you.

The plant pots are individually patterned and selected by myself to coordinate the best match aesthetically. An unglazed interior allows for easy planting within the pot itself as the clay will wick moisture, or you can place a small potted plant within. .

Working to keep function and aesthetics hand-in-hand.

Plant pots will hold a 4 inch pot, plinth is roughly 11” long with live edge of salvaged Oregon walnut.

—This item is HANDMADE and will show the marks of the process. Each piece is unique, bearing the same colors and similarities, with differences in applications of glaze and slight variations in size.

—All wares are made with attention to detail, including remnants of the hand at work, and intentional imperfections.

—All items are food safe.

—Most* items are dishwasher, microwave friendly.
*Pieces that include wood should not be microwaved or dishwashed, doing so will compromise the finish of your product
*Wares that have gold accents cannot be microwaved—this will be noted clearly within the description.
*Some pieces with wood or cork or metal accents are held together with a non toxic/food safe glue, these wares should not be microwaved.

—Function is tested and unless otherwise noted, this piece will function as it is advertised.

—H&F is a one woman business, please keep in mind that returns cannot be made for any reason beyond receiving the wrong product. (This rarely happens, but hey, I’m human. Bear with me.)

*Seconds are pieces that don’t meet visual quality standards—in this case there are small surface splits in the porcelain slip. These splits do not interfere with the integrity of the piece.*

Please remember to be kind when purchasing handmade. These items are loved and well intentioned from the minute they are made to the second they’re sent out to you. You are bringing a piece of H&F and myself into your home.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are your damaged goods policies? / How do I report a damaged good?

Shipping cost will not be refunded.

A photo of the damage is required to be sent to Hand & Fire with the report.

Damages outside of the 3 day limit will not be refunded.

Custom and personalized orders

I love custom orders! But I can't take too many at a time, as I need to maintain regular shop updates and my (soon to be completed) Bachelors degree. Nevertheless, ALWAYS feel free to request customized items/sets, I'll do my best to work with you--whether now or in the future months.

Care instructions

All items sold by Hand & Fire are food safe.

Wares made of solely ceramic are dishwasher safe--no hand washing is necessary!

Utensils that combine metal/wood/ceramic are not dishwasher friendly, as the wood will become rough with exposure to a lot of water.

In order to rehydrate your wood utensil, use a food safe oil to rub on the surface, allowing the oil to fully saturate the wood. I recommend walnut/cutting board oil, which can be found at your local hardware store.

Items decorated in gold luster/accented with wood are not microwave friendly.

I work hard to continuously provide my customers with the best quality wares that I can offer. If you have a question about the care or safety of your item, please shoot me a message.

How often do you update your shop?

As the single maker of H&F, I work hard continuously to keep up with new products, regular shop updates, and customer requests. I tend to update my shop once a month with multiples of items, ranging from mug-centric updates, to small utensils and serving dishes.
If you have something you want to see in the next update, let me know! I'll try to work it in.

How quickly should I expect my item to arrive?

Ready to ship items:
I ship out packages 5-7 business days after an order is received. Packages are taken once a week to the USPS post office here in my little town. Errors in this do occur though, but I promise I will have it out as soon as possible!

Custom orders:

Custom items tend to be shipped within 3-4 weeks after an order is placed. Ceramics need time to dry and in somewhere as rainy as Portland, sometimes they dry much slower than wanted. I'll make sure to keep you updated on the progress of your wares.

Do you accept returns?

As a small business owner and a one woman show, I cannot accept returns to items you dislike. Buying from H&F means you are buying with intention and understanding of the wonky, funky quality of my handmade work.
My work is intended to bring life to your perfectly cast dish sets, to speak to the handmade, and to play a living part within your home.
